Melanie Ledgerwood, Director of Government Relations, received the Individual of the Year award at the Professional Bail Agents of the U.S.’ (PBUS) 2013 Winter Conference, Membership Meeting and Expo held at the Mirage Casino and Resort February 25-27, 2013.

The PBUS Individual of the Year award recognizes an individual, company or organization that has served to promote the bail industry across the nation.  A nominee's work should support the PBUS mission by providing information, education and leadership skills that reflect a national influence on the bail industry.  Melanie has been a tireless advocate of the bail industry educating elected officials, criminal justice stakeholders and citizens across the country on the benefits the bail industry provides to taxpayers and public safety.  She also has authored numerous articles and publications that have been published in local, state and national media outlets.


Enterprising Woman

Winter Park resident Deborah Jallad, owner of Orlando-based Accredited Surety & Casualty Company. has been named a top entrepreneur by Enterprising Women magazine. The publication acknowledged winners in five categories based on revenue and because Accredited's annual sales exceeded $25 million, Jallad received the top distinction. She, along with the other winners, will be given a "2009 Enterprising W omen of the Year Award" during a three-day tribute from March 11 to 13 at Disney's Yacht Club in Lake Buena Vista.
