Premium Rate

State Bonds:

Per state statute 10% for all bonds or $100.00 whichever is greater. 15% for bonds on a defendant charged with a capital offense, or on a defendant who resides outside Mississippi or $100.00 whichever is greater.

Forfeiture Statutes

Forfeiture Time:

If defendant fails to appear the court has 10 working days to notify the surety of forfeiture and judgment nisi. The judgment nisi is returnable for 90 days from date of issuance. If final judgment is entered the court must notify surety within 10 working days by personal service or certified mail. Surety has 90 days to pay or have set aside or surety’s license will be revoked.
